Fiction gives us empathy: It puts us inside the minds of other people, gives us the gift of seeing through their eyes. Fiction is a lie that tells us true things, over and over.
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
The version of yourself that you outgrew is not really gone, and the proof is in how your body still remembers its rhythms. You can feel it in the way you pause before certain doorways, how your shoulders still carry the posture of someone who needed to take up less room. Your mind moved on months or years ago, but your hands still reach for things the way they used to, and your breathing still changes in rooms where that older self once felt small. This week asks you to notice the gap between who you think you are now and who your body still expects to meet in the mirror.
