The funniest part about the plan that looks nothing like it did six months ago is that you keep calling it the same plan. You have replaced the timeline, the budget, the people involved, and the reason you wanted it in the first place, but you still refer to it by its original name as if continuity were just a matter of labels. What you are really looking at is the distance between the thing you thought you wanted and the thing you actually kept choosing when the choices got specific. The plan changed because you changed, and the changing was always the point, even when you thought the point was the plan.
