Pisces

The parent who is not there becomes harder to see clearly the longer you look at the empty space they left. Every conversation you imagine having with them, every explanation you build for their choices, adds another layer between what happened and what you need to know. The more time you give to constructing their reasons, the less room remains for your own response to their absence. At some point the version of them you have been mentally revising stops being a person and becomes a story you keep editing without ever finishing.
