There are tasks you have been doing for months that were never officially assigned to you, and somewhere in the middle of doing them you stopped wondering whose job they actually were. You picked them up because they needed doing and you were there, but now they live in the strange territory between what you chose and what chose you. The problem is not the work itself but the way it sits outside any formal structure of acknowledgment or expectation. You are competent at things that do not technically belong to you, and that creates a particular kind of tiredness that has no name on any job description.
