The money question that keeps coming back is not really about the money. It is about what you brought with you from the house where you first learned that some things matter more than others, where you watched how decisions got made when there was not enough to go around. You keep running the same numbers because the numbers are not the problem. The problem is that every financial choice asks you to choose between the person you were raised to be and the person your current life requires. The question returns because it has never been answered at the right level.
