The plan that looks completely different now than it did six months ago is not a failure of your original thinking. It is what happens when you stop working around a problem and start working through it. You kept the same goal but threw out the steps that were never going to get you there, the ones you designed when you still thought you could avoid the hard conversation or skip the expensive part or find a way that would not require you to change.
