The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

The line someone crossed with you this year showed you something about how much room you actually take up in your own life, and whether you have been seeing that space clearly. When someone pushes against what you thought was solid, the push reveals whether the thing was a real edge or just a place you got tired of extending yourself. You discover that some of what you called your limits were actually just habits of stepping back before anyone asked you to. The year ahead asks you to look at the space you defend and the space you occupy, and notice where they do not match. What you thought was consideration for others turns out to have been a way of not finding out how much room you were allowed to claim. The year will keep asking the same question until you answer it with your whole presence, not just your words.
