Born Today?
A reading for your birthday. Cancer season.
If all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed, if all records told the same tale, then the lie passed into history and became truth.
George Orwell
The promises you made when you had more room in your life do not disappear when the room shrinks, and some of them have become harder to honor without admitting that the person who made them was working with different information. There is a particular weight to the commitment that seemed reasonable two years ago and now asks for more than you have, but breaking it feels like breaking something in yourself rather than just changing your mind. Your body carries the original intention even when your circumstances have shifted around it, and that carrying has its own cost that gets harder to ignore. The year ahead will ask you to name the difference between a promise that still serves the person you are becoming and one that only serves the person you used to be.
