There are debts you carry that no one can see on paper, and this year one of them is asking to be paid in full. It might be the conversation you have been avoiding, the apology you owe yourself, or the promise you made when you thought you had more time to keep it. What makes this particular debt so heavy is not its size but the way it sits in the corner of every other decision you make. You cannot move forward cleanly until you turn toward it directly, and you have been moving around it for longer than you planned. The year ahead is the one that stops letting you postpone the reckoning. The thing you owe will not get smaller by waiting, and the person you become by paying it will surprise you.
