Some decisions feel enormous because you have been carrying the weight of not making them for so long that the choice itself has become confused with all the months of sitting in the middle. The actual choice is smaller than the accumulated tiredness suggests. What makes it feel heavy is the recognition that staying where you are has required a particular kind of daily negotiation with yourself, and you have grown weary of the terms.
